UOIT Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP)

In the UOIT Defined Contribution Pension Plan, the university and its staff work together to build retirement savings. Every plan member contributes three per cent of pensionable earnings to the plan; each year, he or she may elect to make voluntary contributions of up to an additional three per cent of pensionable earnings. The university will contribute six per cent of an employee's pensionable earnings to the plan. On an annual basis, an employee can decide whether a supplementary contribution of up to two per cent of pensionable earnings is made to the pension plan or to the employee's health-care expense account.
