Job summary: To provide instruction to graduate and/or undergraduate students in: Qualitative Research Methods.
Nature of work: In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the successful candidate will be expected to utilize a technology-enhanced learning approach to deliver course material. This position will report to the Dean.
Responsibilities/accountabilities: The Sessional Lecturer will be responsible for the preparation, delivery and grading of all course material and assignments. The Sessional Lecturer will be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.
Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduates and a minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field. Preference will be given to those with a Ph. D. degree, and/or specialist qualifications in the related area.
- Good Communication and Presentation skills
- Strong Computer skills
- An understanding of how to deal with undergraduate student issues
- An understanding of how to appropriately evaluate student performance
- Preferably a Masters or PHD degree in the relevant field
- Previous teaching experience at a post-secondary level
- Comfortable use of Learning Management System (e.g. WebCT, Blackboard)
- Experience in teaching courses in this area preferred
